# Privacy Policy for Mooney

Mooney is a personal and household budgeting application developed by Dimitar Mihaylov.

This Privacy Policy explains how Mooney handles your information.

## Summary

Mooney is designed with privacy in mind.

• Your financial information is stored locally on your device.
• Mooney does not contain advertising.
• Mooney does not track you.
• Mooney does not use third-party analytics.
• Household sharing is optional and uses Apple iCloud and CloudKit.
• Screenshot and CSV processing occurs on your device.

## Information stored on your device

Mooney may store the following information locally:

• Transactions and transaction descriptions
• Transaction amounts and dates
• Categories and categorization rules
• Budgets and savings goals
• Account names and balances
• Household members and settlement information
• Imported CSV data
• App preferences

This information is stored using Apple SwiftData on your device.

Mooney’s developer does not operate a server that receives this locally stored financial information.

## Screenshot and CSV imports

When you import transactions from a screenshot, Mooney uses Apple’s on-device technologies to recognize and process the text.

When you import a CSV file, the file is read locally to create transactions.

Imported screenshots and CSV files are not uploaded to Mooney’s developer.

## iCloud household sharing

Household sharing is optional.

When you enable household sharing, selected household information is stored and synchronized using Apple iCloud and CloudKit. This may include:

• Shared transactions
• Shared transaction categories
• Household budgets
• Household members
• Settlement information

This information is shared only with people who have been invited to the household.

Apple processes this information according to Apple’s privacy policy and iCloud terms. Mooney’s developer does not operate a separate synchronization server.

You can stop sharing, leave a household, or remove household participants from within the app.

## Face ID

If you enable the app lock, Mooney may ask iOS to authenticate you using Face ID or the device passcode.

Mooney does not receive, access, or store your biometric information. Authentication is handled by iOS.

## Notifications

Mooney may use Apple Push Notification Service to receive notifications about changes to shared CloudKit data.

Mooney does not use notifications for advertising or behavioral tracking.

## Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Mooney does not currently use:

• Advertising networks
• Third-party analytics services
• Cross-app tracking
• Tracking cookies
• Data brokers

Mooney does not sell personal information.

## Third-party services

Mooney uses services provided by Apple, including:

• iCloud
• CloudKit
• Apple Push Notification Service
• Face ID and LocalAuthentication
• Vision text recognition
• Apple on-device Foundation Models, where available

## Data retention and deletion

Locally stored information remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or erase the information using Mooney’s data- management controls.

Mooney provides controls to:

• Export local information as JSON
• Delete local information
• Stop household synchronization
• Leave a shared household
• Remove household participants, where applicable

Information synchronized through iCloud may remain in iCloud according to Apple’s retention and backup practices.

Deleting local information from one device does not necessarily delete information belonging to other household participants.

## Children’s privacy

Mooney is not directed specifically at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

## International processing

If you use iCloud household sharing, Apple may process information in countries where Apple or its service providers operate. Apple is responsible for the operation and security of its services.

## Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Mooney’s features or data-handling practices change.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the latest revision took effect.
